Abstract: Web 2.0 and Social Software tools are becoming widely adopted by TCNJ's Internet-savvy students. In this presentation, basic concepts of social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn will be discussed. Social Bookmarking sites such as del.icio.ous will be introduced along with ideas about how they can be used in the academic environment. As well, RSS feeds will be explained; examples will be given, including demonstrations of how faculty can use RSS feeds to incorporate Library resources into SOCS and on Web pages. Particular attention will be focused on how these Net-Generation-friendly technologies may enhance learning engagement.
