Description: Summary: Open source software has been receiving increased attention in the library world lately. This presentation explores the current state of open source library automation systems. It includes an introduction to open source software, some of the benefits of using open source software in libraries, a look at various open source library systems, their features, and how they differ from their proprietary counterparts. Filled with examples of open source library systems such as Koha, Emilda, and OpenBiblio. The pros and con of why a library would use an open source system instead of a proprietary one are be discussed.
